Amy McKelvey joined Linder in 2025 as homeroom teacher and middle school math and science instructor. Her educational philosophy centers on creativity, curiosity, and student-centered learning—values that guide every aspect of her teaching.

Amy’s career spans elementary and middle school education, as well as secondary instruction in English, drama, psychology, and the visual and performing arts. She holds a master’s degree in Gifted Education and is certified in Virginia to teach PreK–6, English 7–12, and Gifted Education K–12.

With over two decades of experience across grade levels, subjects, and continents, Amy brings a global perspective to her classroom. In 2011, she founded Woodland Star International School in Kenya, where she shaped an educational environment rooted in wonder, inclusivity, and meaningful learning—principles she continues to embody at Linder.

A member of the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Design and the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children, Amy integrates modern instructional methods—such as the Modern Classroom Project model—to design dynamic, student-driven learning experiences. She believes students are the main characters in their own educational stories and is committed to helping them dream big, set goals, and grow with confidence.
