Electives
Each trimester, students select an elective that gives them the opportunity to explore new interests, develop creative skills, and engage in hands-on learning.
Electives, which meet twice weekly, are a vital part of the Linder experience, complementing our core focus on math and reading. Since our curriculum does not include dedicated classes for art, music, foreign language, or PE, these subjects are integrated into our electives. This approach ensures students still have access to a well-rounded education, while allowing them to build new skills in a way that feels exciting and meaningful. Electives also foster creativity, collaboration, and a love of learning—key values central to the Linder philosophy.

Clubs
Sports & fitness
At Linder Academy, we offer inclusive, no-cut sports teams that vary annually based on student interest. This year’s teams include:
Orienteering team - weekend competitions at state and local parks
Mountain biking team - after-school practices and 1-2 competitions per season
Based on interest each season, we also provide non-competitive fitness activities such as weight lifting and yoga, promoting physical well-being for all students.
Middle school student-led clubs
Middle school students are encouraged to take initiative and create their own lunchtime and after-school interest-based clubs. These student-led groups provide a unique opportunity to explore passions, build leadership skills, and foster connections with peers who share similar interests.
Examples of past and current clubs include jewelry making, board games, creative writing, photography, and video editing. Whether students want to dive into a hobby, explore new skills, or work together on community projects, Linder provides the support and resources to bring their ideas to life. These clubs allow students to express their individuality while creating a vibrant, inclusive community.
