Spotlight on our Animal Science elective
Did you know ferrets have been used as working animals for centuries? Agile, intelligent, and endlessly curious, they’re often misunderstood—but truly make loyal and rewarding companions.
At Linder, we believe learning takes many forms—including the kind that comes from bonding with the incredible animals in our care.
In celebration of National Ferret Day, we’re shining a light on two of our most entertaining educators:
Lulu and Bandit, our beloved classroom ferrets!
Whether they’re zipping through tunnels or greeting curious students with a nose twitch, Lulu and Bandit bring joy, laughter, and plenty of teachable moments to our school. Their presence sparks curiosity in Animal Science, while helping students build responsibility, empathy, and a deeper appreciation for all living creatures.
Lulu and Bandit are just two residents of what students fondly call the Linder Zoo—a lively collection of classroom animals that includes reptiles, small mammals, amphibians, and more. As part of the Animal Science elective, students get hands-on experience caring for these animals, learning about their habitats, behaviors, and dietary needs. They clean enclosures, prep food, study animal anatomy, and even help with enrichment activities that keep our furry and scaly friends healthy and engaged.
It’s science, responsibility, and compassion—all rolled into one unforgettable elective.
🐾 Happy National Ferret Day from all of us at Linder—especially from Lulu and Bandit!
