School Librarian
Jennie Agresta
MLS, University of Maryland
BA, Mount Holyoke College
As Linder’s librarian, Jennie strives to foster a love of reading in each and every student. With a Master’s degree in Library Science and a career that spans publishing, editing, reference, and research, Jennie brings both professional training and a breadth of experience to the school library. She works closely with neurodiverse learners to help them find books that spark their curiosity, expand their thinking, and reflect their unique interests. She believes every child deserves access to engaging stories and loves to make personalized recommendations that help students feel seen and excited about reading.
Before joining Linder in 2023, Jennie had been a reference librarian, researcher, fact-checker, author, newspaper copyeditor, bookseller, and museum publications manager. Over the previous dozen years, she had contributed to the editorial production of more than a hundred nonfiction books for young readers for publishers including National Geographic Kids (NGK), Workman Publishing, and Scholastic. She is also the co-author of several books for NGK, including Jurassic Smarts, Dino Records, Awesome 8, and Ultimate Bodypedia, selected by the National Science Teaching Association as an Outstanding Science Trade Book for students K-12.
Jennie is a proud member of the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) and the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), as well as the PEN America foundation. She is committed to aligning Linder’s library services with AASL’s National School Library Standards in guiding learners, supporting teachers and staff, and managing the library.
In her free time, Jennie enjoys finding (and sharing) fun stickers, making friends with animals, and searching for books to add to the library’s collection.*
*…and then nudging students to read these new and exciting books so they can recommend them to other students, until—before you know it—everyone is reading and recommending books to one another and exuberantly swapping them like Halloween candy. That’s the dream.
