Jennifer Walrath

Education has always been an important part of Jennifer’s life and career. After 30 years with Fairfax County Public Schools, she is excited to begin a new chapter as an interventionist at The Linder Academy.

Throughout her career, Jennifer has especially enjoyed working with students in small groups and providing the individualized support they need to become successful readers. She has had the privilege of working with many struggling readers who initially lacked confidence in their abilities. Helping those students discover that they can read, watching their confidence grow, and seeing them blossom into more independent and enthusiastic readers has been one of the most rewarding parts of her career.

Jennifer believes that learning to read is about much more than mastering skills—it is about building confidence, finding success, and helping children see themselves as capable learners. She is passionate about meeting students where they are, identifying what they need, and providing patient, purposeful instruction to help them move forward. She is happy to bring her experience, enthusiasm, and love of teaching to Linder and looks forward to helping students become confident, successful readers.

A lifelong Virginian, Jennifer is married and a proud mom of three children—and a chocolate lab named Sugar. When she’s not teaching, she stays busy with the catering company she and her husband own. She also enjoys going out to eat with friends, taking long walks with Sugar, and going to the beach.
