Since joining The Linder Academy in January 2022, Katie Lyons has played a vital role in shaping curriculum and instructional practices that bring out the best in both students and teachers. Katie blends research-backed strategies with a student-centered approach she developed through years of classroom teaching experience.

Katie holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Oakland University and a Master’s in Curriculum, Assessment, and Instruction from Walden University; she is also certified in both English and Social Sciences with a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License. As Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Katie supports faculty across disciplines by leading professional development, designing curriculum, and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning. She is dedicated to the creation of engaging, rigorous classrooms that promote critical thinking, real-world connections, and authentic student voices.

Outside her administrative work, Katie’s love of travel and culture continues to enrich her educational perspective. She also enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends.
